Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport and transfer to your lodge. Enjoy local market visits or unwind before a full briefing.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Head to Tarangire for a day of game drives among elephants, baobabs, and lions.

Day 3: Central Serengeti

Journey to Central Serengeti for your first look at the Great Migration. Expect predators and herds across golden plains.
Overnight: Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge or similar

Day 4: Serengeti – Grumeti Area

Move westward to Grumeti for river crossings and big cat activity.

Day 5: Grumeti Safari Experience

Track migrating herds and enjoy optional walking safaris for a deeper bush experience.

Day 6: Wildlife & Relaxation

Another day of game drives and riverside wildlife moments. Expect crocodiles, hippos, and campfire stories.

Day 7: To Northern Serengeti

Fly or drive to Kogatende. Witness thrilling Mara River crossings during migration season.

Day 8: Balloon Safari & Game Drive

Optional sunrise balloon safari followed by a full day tracking migration herds and predators.

Day 9: Culture & Wildlife

Visit a local Maasai village and continue game drives across the wild northern reaches.

Day 10: Journey to Lake Natron

Travel to Lake Natron to see flamingos, waterfalls, and Ol Doinyo Lengai.

Day 11: Natron to Arusha

Enjoy a lakeside walking safari and return to Arusha for your final overnight.

Day 12: Departure

Best Time to Visit

While the Great Migration moves year-round, the best time for this safari is July to October during Mara River crossings. Calving season in January to March is perfect for predator action, while April and November offer lush scenery and fewer crowds.
